Did you know that there’s a tiny building in Boston that exists simply because of a real estate dispute?

Known as the Skinny House, this unusual home in Boston’s North End measures only about 10 feet wide at its widest point and just over 6 feet at its narrowest. Legend says it was built after two feuding brothers argued over land inheritance, with one constructing the ultra-narrow house specifically to block sunlight and views from the other’s property. Today, the Skinny House still stands as one of the narrowest homes in the United States — and a quirky reminder of how personal disputes can shape real estate history.
